Thom Yorke, Burial and Four Tet have released a pair of collaborative tracks.
The internet got buzzy with news of a project from the electronic royal trio early today (Dec. 2), when London record stores Phonica and Sounds of the Universe each published Instagram posts announcing that they were in possession of “ultra limited edition black label” copies of the songs, titled “His Rope” and “Her Revolution.”
Both shops reported that they had very limited copies of the pressings, and both have updated their posts to announce that the vinyl has sold out.
But as you simply cannot hold the internet down, both tracks have surfaced on YouTube. The songs are more or less what you’d expect from this trio, meaning that they’re deep, ambient, slowly pulsing and warmly sumptuous productions over which Yorke sings about revolution and “sex and death, total self-destruction.”
This is the second collaboration from Yorke, Burial and Four Tet, coming nine years after the release of their double track released “Ego”/”Mirror.” Burial and Four Tet also worked together on the 2009 single “Moth / “Wolf Cub.”
