Megan Thee Stallion joined James Corden on The Late Late Show Thursday night (Dec. 11), and the host expressed how big of a fan he is.
“I’m so thrilled to meet you,” Corden gushed to the rapper, before asking her what her first raps were like. “You know, I was probably rapping about my toys at, like, seven. But when I got, like, 15, I know I was doing a lot of cursing,” she laughed. “I just cannot remember what the content was. I was definitely shy about telling my mom I could rap. I didn’t want to tell my grandma, I didn’t want to tell my friends, but when I got to college, I was like, ‘You know what? These people don’t know me. I could be whoever I say I am at this school.’ So I went to college and I’m like, yeah, I’m Megan Thee Stallion and I can rap. And everybody was like, yup, that’s Megan and she can rap.”
The conversation soon shifted to horror films, which is Meg’s favorite movie genre. “Ever since I was young, if I wasn’t rapping I was scaring the heck out of myself,” she shared. “I love scary movies! My favorite scary movie has to be Evil Dead, the two from the 80s and I like the 2000s version.”
“I just really feel like — I like antiheroes too,” she continued. “Like Venom, it’s like, I’m saving the world but I’m only saving it because I live here too. He’s a hero but he’ll still curse you out, you know? I like to know the story behind the bad guy. Why are you evil?”
Her interest in the spooky side of life is no secret. Back in August, the rapper shared to Variety that she’s actually working on her own horror screenplay. “It’s gonna be something that definitely blows your mind; you’ve never seen it before,” she said.
