Lizzo always makes her fans and fellow singers feel good as hell, and Demi Lovato sang her praises for it after Lizzo’s latest self-love PSA.
The Grammy-winning singer posted a montage reel of clips on Tuesday where she proudly showed off her naked body while narrating how she’s “spent my hardest days trying to love me.” Lizzo later advised viewers how to regularly eat, drink, move and rest as a normal person and concluded with this message: “Regardless of what I or what any so-called expert says, you love you. And I hope you remember that.”
“Thank you for the inspiration we all needed today you legend,” Lovato wrote underneath the video, while a chorus of other “thank you” messages echoed from other stars, including Empress Of, Yara Shahidi and Kerry Washington. Erykah Badu described Lizzo as “perfect,” while SZA and Jazmine Sullivan sent her an abundance of heart emojis.
Lauren Jauregui and Maluma also sent their love under a separate post that showcased a topless still from her self-love video and set the record straight about her juice detox that she received criticism over for “promoting diet culture.”
“I detoxed my body and I’m still fat. I love my body and I’m still fat. I’m beautiful and I’m still fat,” Lizzo wrote for the caption. “These things are not mutually exclusive. To the people who look to me, please do not starve yourselves. I did not starve myself. I fed myself greens and water and fruit and protein and sunlight. You don’t have to do that to be beautiful or healthy. That was my way. You can do life your way. Remember, despite anything anyone says or does DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH YOUR BODY.”
The “Juice” artist also took to TikTok to debunk the assumption that detox results exclusively deal with losing a lot of weight by showing how her 10-day journey helped better her body, mind and spirit.
“In reality, November stressed me the f— out,” she confessed. “I drank a lot, I ate a lot of spicy things and things that f—ed my stomach up. I wanted to reverse it and get back to where I was. I’m so proud of myself. I’m proud of my results. My sleep has improved, my hydration, my inner peace, my mental stability, my f—ing body, my f—ing skin, the whites of my eyes, I feel and look like a bad b— — and that’s it.”
