The MTV VMAs added best quarantine performance as a new award category this year because of how creative artists got in 2020 after the COVID-19 pandemic completely altered the direction of live music. But who really had the best one?
Billboard picked out our 12 best quarantine performances of 2020, and Chloe x Halle definitely did it for us. The sisters went down to their tennis court time and time again to slay each of their at-home performances, and not one looked like the other. The neon-wearing R&B duo floated in a swimming pool before elevating to the skies for a totally transparent Today show performance of “Do It” in June.
Another sibling duo, Billie Eilish and Finneas, didn’t let their at-home setting take away the magic of their NPR Tiny Desk (Home) performance in August. They created a cardboard cutout of the iconic office venue for Eilish’s stripped-down renditions of “My Future” and “Everything I Wanted.”
Now that we’ve told you our favorites, it’s time for you to vote in Billboard’s poll for your personal favorite quarantine performance of 2020!
