Carnage has signed a new global publishing deal with Kobalt Music, covering his full catalog and future releases, including a new album coming in 2021.
A longstanding dance music presence, the Guatemalan-American producer born Diamanté Anthony Blackmon is behind myriad dance hits including his 2015 album Papi Gordo, which hit No. 1 on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart in 2015. “I Like Tuh,” his 2015 single with ILoveMakonnen, has amassed more than 117 million Spotify streams. With his work expanding heavily into hip-hop, the producer has also collaborated with artists including G Easy, Migos, Mac Miller and Young Thug.
“Carnage is an incredible producer and DJ,” said Dominique Keegan, Kobalt creative vp, in a statement. “His career has shown an extensive range of production styles ranging from hip-hop to electronic pop and his upcoming music showcases a truly global sound with an American twist.”
“I couldn’t be happier to officially be joining the Kobalt family,” Carnage added. “Kobalt is built for creatives like me and will really help me grow in a world of all things digital music. I am thrilled to be ending this crazy year on a high note by working with Kobalt to take my publishing to the next level.”
This global admin deal with Kobalt includes the full Carnage catalog. In 2020, the producer played a series of high-profile livestreams including July’s boundary-pushing event by Tomorrowland. While his July drive-in festival in Orlando was cancelled due to weather, earlier this month the producer brought his RARE event series to Thailand, where large gatherings are currently legal, and played for a crowd of 10,000. The producer also lost 100 pounds this year.
