Andrea Bocelli brought some much-needed light to this year’s unusual holiday season, sharing on Friday (Dec. 18) an intimate performance from the stunning Frasassi Caves in Genga, Italy.
The five-song A Christmas Prayer performance also included a special poetry reading from the rich-voiced singer. Pianist Carlo Bernini joined Bocelli for the evocative show, along with dancer Brittany O’Connor.
The concert follows the release of Bocelli’s new album Believe, a collection of songs that have inspired the opera singer. “The concept behind Believe is based on three words: faith, hope and charity,” said Bocelli of the project in a statement. “These are the three theological virtues of Christianity, yet – quite independently of any religious belief – they are also the three extraordinary keys to giving meaning and completeness to the lives of every one of us.”
