The 2020 Premios Heat Latin Music Awards took place Thursday night (Dec. 17) from Playa Juanillo in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic.
The awards show, which broadcasted live via HTV and online via LosHeat.tv, honored its 5th anniversary by awarding today’s popular Latin artists and songs, including Karol G for best urban artist, Camilo for best pop artist, and El Alfa for best new artist. Nicky Jam received the coveted Premio Oro for his trajectory and contributions to Latin music and Nacho was awarded with the Premio Compromiso for his social labor.
During the 5th annual ceremony, Eddy Herrera and Prince Royce, two of the Dominican Republic’s biggest tropical names, received a special tribute: Herrera for celebrating a 30-year career and Royce for his 10-year anniversary.
The ceremony followed safety precautions such as social distancing, face coverings, and COVID-19 testings.
