Taylor Swift is grateful for her Swifties’ love.
The star’s “Willow” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart this week, marking her seventh Hot 100 leader and second of 2020.
Plus, Evermore launched at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making Swift the first artist to debut atop both charts simultaneously twice. She previously did so when her prior album Folklore and its single “Cardigan” opened atop the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 charts dated Aug. 8.
Upon hearing the news, Swift retweeted the accomplishment on Monday (Dec. 21), adding a simple but heartfelt message. “Guys. Seriously. Thank you for doing this,” she wrote.
Upon unveiling Evermore on Dec. 11, just months after Folklore’s release in August, Swift shared that she had never done a double album release like this before. “In the past I’ve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one as soon as an album was released. There was something different with Folklore,” she tweeted.
“In making it, I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning,” she continued. “I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary/not imaginary tales. I loved the ways you welcomed the dreamscapes and tragedies and epic tales of love lost and found.”
