Noche Buena is less than 24 hours away, and you know what that means: lots of cooking, sipping on Coquito, and dancing the night away.
Despite a challenging year due to the global health crisis, many artists got in the holiday spirit and even released Christmas and New Year’s Eve-related songs.
Thalia, for example, dropped her own rendition of Jose Feliciano’s classic “Feliz Navidad” and gave it an electronic merengue-pop twist. Don Omar also came out to play with the tropical urban “Navidad Pa’ La Calle,” which samples El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico’s “Pa’ Fuera, Pa’ La Calle.” And we can’t forget some all-time favorites such as that one time Aventura did a bachata version of “El Burrito Sabanero.”
On the list is also “Cantares de Navidad” by Trio Vegabajeño, the closing song on Bad Bunny’s El Ultimo Tour del Mundo. The 1950s song, which was an approval via license from the current owners of the group, earned the group its first entry on any Billboard chart.
Christmas Eve is far from being a silent night when you’re celebrating at a Latino household. Check out a list of tropical songs you must add to your festive playlist, below.
