Happy New Year 2021!
Music stars like Mariah Carey, The Weeknd, P!nk, John Legend, Katy Perry and many more took to social media on New Year’s Day (Jan. 1) to celebrate the end of a challenging 2020 and welcome the opportunity for a fresh start in the coming year.
“HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!” Carey captioned a video of herself singing the classic song “Auld Lang Syne.” A few seconds into the classic tune, Mimi stopped to playfully remind viewers on Instagram, “I don’t know how it goes,” before finishing up.
Lizzo took time to reflect on 2020, writing on Instagram, “I saw somewhere if you ain’t find your hustle this year then ‘the hustle ain’t in you’… nah… this year wasn’t given to us in the form of an incubator for growth.”
She added, “If you found growth, I’m proud of you. If you found yourself shrunken, I’m proud of you. Because this year was about survival. Everyone reading this post is a survivor. And that means the hustle is definitely in you. Celebrate yourself. Safely and lovingly.”
P!ink also shared a similar positive message with her eight million followers.
“Happy New Year. I am gratitude. I am peace. I am better than I’ve ever been,” the pop superstar wrote on Instagram. “This year, may we all remember that we each own a spiritual toolbox that we can always draw from, like a bottomless well. We are capable of brilliance and light, and love in the face of hatred. Kindness in the face of impatience. Deep breaths people. I send each and every one you so. Much. Love. Cheers.”
Country star Brad Paisley, meanwhile, took time to thank all of his fans who stuck by him over the past year.
“Here at the end of 2020, there are so many things that stand out for me. Most especially, I’m so thankful for the connection I have felt with all of you,” he wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for inviting me into your zooms and your lives In the middle of this craziness. Someday we will all gather again, knowing each other better, rock out together, and never again take things like that for granted. May that be our 2021.”
