Christmas is done and dusted. We’re all a touch chubbier, and chilled out, but there’s work to be done. For those of us who need a push, just follow the lead of Dolly Parton.
The legendary singer, songwriter, philanthropist and actor shared a throwback photo with all the vibes from “9 to 5,” the 1980 film she starred in, and performed the title song for.
Dressed sharp in a pin-striped suit at a desk and wearing a head of hair that’d be the envy of any ’80s rock guitarist, Dolly appears ready to tackle any challenge (with a smile on her face).
“The holidays are over, y’all. It’s back to that 9 to 5 #MondayMotivation,” she writes.
Dolly has never shied away from work. Over a decades-long career in music and business, Dolly set the bar ridiculously high with more than 3,000 compositions, to go with her ten Grammy Awards (including a 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award), induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame and more.
In the Guinness World Records 2018 edition, the Tennessee native received two certifications for her record-setting feats, including recognition for the most decades with a top 20 hit on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart (six).
Away from music, Parton last year helped fund Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine with a donation to the tune of $1 million.
