Olivia Rodrigo broke all of our hearts on Friday (Jan. 8) when she unveiled her tearjerking debut song, “Drivers License.”
The viral single, which laments an ex who has moved on, features the lyrics, “And I just can’t imagine / How you could be so okay now that I’m gone / Guess you didn’t mean what you wrote in that song about me / ‘Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street.” It’s rumored to be about the 17-year-old singer’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series costar Joshua Bassett, though neither have confirmed the speculation.
The devastating lyrics and theories over the IRL meaning quickly spread throughout TikTok, with users sharing their own experiences while listening to the song and reacting to what may be Disney’s biggest love triangle since the whole Nick Jonas/Miley Cyrus/Selena Gomez thing back in 2009.
