As the worlds of dance music, gaming and streaming continue to coalesce, a crew of scene stars are gearing up for a new event merging all three elements.
2021 Grammy nominee Madeon, Billboard 21 under 21 producer Moore Kismet, along with Ookay, Whipped Cream and Armnhmr will play the inaugural Valorant wwFest, happening this Friday, January 15 at 4 p.m. ET. Additional artists will be added to the lineup ahead of the event. Watch a trailer for wwFest below.
Developed by Riot Games, Valorant is the world’s largest first-person tactical shooter game and counts Zedd among its biggest fans. Streaming on Twitch’s gaming and pop-culture-focused Crown Channel, Valorant wwFest will be shot using drone technology filmed from the perspectives of five Valorant characters.
The show is also happening IRL, with the musical performances taking place inside an Atlanta arena and the show fusing elements of a live music festival with the virtual world. The first of its kind spectacle will also feature dancing and art installations inspired by the game.
