Toby Keith and Ricky Skaggs each received the National Medal of the Arts on Wednesday (Jan. 13th) afternoon. They were presented by President Trump during a closed press ceremony, according to the White House press office. The medals are the nation's highest award for the arts.
So far, neither Toby nor Ricky have commented on the occasion, however Ricky's spokesperson told Taste of Country that he was originally supposed to receive the medal in early 2020 but it was delayed due to the pandemic.
