The galaxy of stars who will celebrate the inauguration of president-elect Joe Biden and VP-elect Sen. Kamala Harris keeps expanding.

Under the banner of “America United,” the Biden/Harris Inaugural Committee has announced five nights of events, which will also include Saturday’s (Jan. 16) America United: An Inauguration Welcome Event Celebrating America’s Changemakers, which will feature Whoopi Goldberg, Darren Criss, the Resistance Revival Choir, Cristela Alonzo, Nik Dodani and the Black Pumas; the event will stream from 7:00-8:30 at bideninaugural.org and the Presidential Inaugural Committee social pages.
Monday’s (Jan. 18) United We Serve National Day of Service will honor and celebrate the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with an “opportunity for all Americans to unite and serve at a time when the global pandemic calls on all of us to work together and support our communities.” The event will feature appearances from Aloe Blacc, Rev. Dr. Bernice King, Martin Luther King III, Chesca, Rep. Sharice Davids, Rosario Dawson, Andra Day, Yo-Yo Ma, Rev. Al Sharpton, Sean Patrick Thomas, Diane Warren, Lynn Whitfield and Bebe Winans.
Wednesday’s (Jan. 20) inauguration day lineup is even more glitzy, with Lady Gaga performing the National Anthem, as well as a musical performance by Jennifer Lopez, the Pledge of Allegiance by trailblazing fire captain Andrea Hall and a poetry reading by activist/poet Amanda Gorman.
That will be followed by Wednesday night’s primetime Celebrating America special, which will be hosted by Tom Hanks and feature performances from Jon Bon Jovi, Justin Timberlake, Demi Lovato and Ant Clemons, as well as Bruce Springsteen, John Legend and the Foo Fighters, with additional appearances by actresses Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington according to the New York Times. More artists are expected to join the 90-minute (8:30-10 p.m. ET) special that will be aired on NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN and MSNBC, as well as on the Committee’s social media feeds, Amazon Prime Video, Twitch and Fox’s NewsNOW.
Timberlake revealed on Wednesday that he and Clemons wrote a new song, “Better Days,” several months ago, describing it as their way of “doing what little we could to encourage everyone to stay hopeful and to keep working towards a better future.”
