Last March’s C2C: Country to Country Festival was one of the first casualties of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Now, the 2021 edition is one of the first events to announce it won’t come back this year either.
Via Twitter, the festival, which features top-name country artists appearing over three days in London, Dublin and Glasgow, tweeted it was pulling the plug on this year’s edition, slated for March 12-14, due to the ongoing pandemic and restrictions on mass gatherings and international travel.
“In March of 2020, we could never have foreseen the extent of what has unfolded and the prospect that we could be without C2C for 2 years running was unthinkable,” the event’s organizers posted. “We are devastated that we are unable to deliver you the event that we all love.”
Tickets from 2021 remain valid for 2022, or refunds are available. Dates for the 2022 festival are March 11-13. Scheduled headliners for 2021 were Luke Combs, Darius Rucker and Eric Church. The lineup for 2022 will be announced in coming weeks, according to the festival.
The news comes as England’s premier live music event, the Glastonbury Festival, announced its cancellation for the second year in a row due to the pandemic on Thursday (Jan. 21).
