Kelly Clarkson kicked the week into high gear with a sassy Kellyoke cover of Tanya Tucker’s “It’s a Little Too Late” on Monday’s (Jan. 25) episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show.
The talk show host juxtaposed warm- and cool-colored lights onstage while she added some Texas twang to the country classic. “Turn the jukebox up, throw some sawdust down/ I’m too far gone to turn this heart around/ I may be wrong but I don’t walk out/ Well, it’s a little too late to do the right thing now,” she crooned with her backing band Y’all.
Tucker released “It’s a Little Too Late” in 1993 as the second single from her album Can’t Run From Yourself. The song reached the No. 2 spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
