GLAAD is ready to get their party started with special performances from some of your favorite queer artists.
On Thursday (April 1), GLAAD announced a new slate of performers who will take to the stage at the 32nd annual GLAAD Media Awards.
Chika, Rebecca Black and host Niecy Nash’s wife Jessica Betts will all offer performances during the awards — taking place next Thursday, April 8, at 8:00 p.m. ET — while Sabrina Carpenter will offer a special performance for those who tune in on Hulu.
Another star is participating at the GLAAD Awards this year, but in a very different way: Phoebe Bridgers, who is nominated at the awards for outstanding breakthrough artist alongside Chika, Rina Sawayama, and many more, is teaming up with GLAAD to auction off the guitar she smashed during her Feb. 6 appearance on Saturday Night Live. The bidding for the guitar, and an array of other prizes, starts today at $5,000, and will be available to bid on until April 11.
The media advocacy organization also announced a new lineup of special guests who would be attending the ceremony, including Andrew Rannells, Karamo Brown, Lilly Singh, Gottmik, Harvey Guillén and Brian Michael Smith.
Artists like Adam Lambert, Sam Smith, Lady Gaga, Halsey, Pabllo Vittar, Kehlani and many others were nominated for awards at this year’s ceremony. “As GLAAD continues to lead the fight for LGBTQ acceptance, this year’s nominees remind us that even in times of political and cultural division, diverse LGBTQ representation and visibility can enlighten, entertain, and create lasting change,” Sarah Kate Ellis, GLAAD’s CEO and president, said in a statement.
The 32nd annual GLAAD Media Awards will premiere on GLAAD’s YouTube channel Thursday, April 8 at 8:00 p.m. ET, before becoming available to watch on Hulu at 10:00 p.m. ET.
