Following its successful Latin American Forum, Midem has announced its plans to go fully digital. Billed as the leading international business event for the music ecosystem, the event plans to return to Cannes in June 2022.
Free to access, the 2021 edition will be available online on the Midem Digital platform, where it offers its more than 12,000 members year-round access to resources, networking, and educational content, to name a few.
“Since the pandemic hit us all, we’ve taken our role in keeping the worldwide community connected, informed, engaged and looking forward together, extremely seriously,” said Midem director, Alexandre Deniot in a statement. “Midem Digital has allowed us to be here, daily, throughout the year to help us all better understand the new context in which we find ourselves and to navigate our new landscape.”
This year, Midem will host key two events: Midem Africa, from June 28 to July 1, and the annual flagship Midem, in its digital edition, from November 16 to 19.
Midem Africa marks the first-ever pan-African digital music event highlighting trends, careers, and key players in the African music industry. Midem Digital will include keynote sessions, workshops, and virtual networking opportunities, to name a few.
Midem plans to return to its physical event from June 7 to 10, 2022 in Cannes.
“Given the current global context around Covid, Midem 2021 will be a fully online experience,” Deniot added. “We can’t wait to be back in our home in Cannes in June 2022 for a long-overdue reunion with our members from more than 151 countries, who’ve been making use of Midem Digital this year.”
