Christina Aguilera pulled back the curtain on her private life on Monday night (April 5) in a birthday video tribute to her fiancé Matthew Rutler in a post featuring some of their most romantic moments. “You’re simply the best, @m_rutler! Happy Birthday,” she wrote alongside the 30-second highlight clip in which the pair share quiet moments on date nights and in the snow, as well as video of Rutler crashing through a wall of playroom bricks, snuggling their dog, surfing and getting a special b-day tribute from the singer and her two kids.
“You continuously impress me with how devoted, driven and hardworking you are, while being a devoted, loving and thoughtful parent & partner. You always strive to be better and never settle for anything but,” she wrote in a follow-up tweet. “From being an amazing father to an incredible business man and forward thinker, you innovate and execute ideas on the daily. I remember when Masterclass was just a little idea being tossed around our backyard.”
Rutler, who will turn 35 next week, is the executive v.p. of the online lessons company MasterClass and the father of Aguilera’s six-year-old daughter, Summer; the singer also has a 13-year-old son, Max, with ex-husband Jordan Bratman.
“Now knowing and seeing first-hand the backstory in how you helped grow it to become the mega success it is, I’m not surprised because I witness the magic behind the machine every day — in every sense of what you do,” she added about his business smarts. “From helping keep the family glue together to building the successes you do. I’m proud of you and will always be in your corner…cheering you on to keep shining and succeeding in all your wildest dreams. Love you baby.”
