Sara Bareilles is taking her talents to TV this spring, bringing the 1990s back in Peacock’s upcoming series Girls5eva.
The singer will star alongside Ashley Park, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Paula Pell and Busy Philipps in the eight-episode comedy series that follows a one-hit-wonder girl group from the 90s who try to give their stardom one more shot after their song gets sampled by a young rapper.
“I’m going to write us a hit,” Bareilles is heard saying in the new trailer released on Tuesday (April 6). “An anthem to things that aren’t perfect but are still great.”
“That’s like us!” Philipps responds.
Girls5eva, created by Meredith Scardino and executive produced by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, is set to premiere on Peacock on May 6.
