Bobby Brown will appear on the next episode of Red Table Talk to open up about the tragic deaths of his son Bobby Brown Jr., daughter Bobbi Kristina and ex-wife Whitney Houston.
On the episode airing Wednesday (April 14), titled “An Urgent Warning From Bobby Brown,” Brown discusses the dangers of drug addiction and opens up about overcoming alcohol addiction.
Billboard has an exclusive clip of his wife Alicia Etheredge-Brown discussing how she’s helped the 52-year-old Grammy-winning hitmaker deal with the loss of his family members. “Unconditional love, but really, a reality check,” she tells Red Table Talk host Jada Pinkett Smith of how she’s helped Brown. “He had a lot of ‘Yes’ people.”
The cause of Bobby Brown Jr.’s death at age 28 on Nov. 18 was revealed late last month as “combined effects of alcohol, cocaine and fentanyl,” which unfortunately follows the similar tragedies of his extended family. His half-sister and Brown’s daughter Bobbi Kristina died at age 22 on July 26, 2015, after she was found unconscious in a bathtub and later ended up in a coma for six months. The autopsy revealed the cause of death was lobar pneumonia due to “immersion of face in water complicating mixed drug intoxication.” Her mother and Grammy-winning singer Whitney Houston died at age 48 on Feb. 11, 2012, after she was also found submerged in a bathtub. The autopsy revealed the cause of death was accidental drowning, heart disease and the effects of cocaine use.
Brown and his son’s mother Kim Ward said in March they wanted those responsible for Brown Jr.’s accidental overdose death held responsible, and prosecutors said they are considering criminal charges. “My family continues to mourn my son’s death,” Brown said in a statement. “This epidemic is out of control and those supplying this lethal drug should be held responsible for the death and destruction that it causes.”
In another preview clip that Red Table Talk shared on Facebook, Etheredge-Brown spoke about how they faced the news of Brown Jr.’s autopsy report and they dealt with their “high anxiety” by talking to their therapist about how to truthfully explain the results to the public.
