As top nominee Karol G walked away with three awards at the 2021 Latin American Music Awards Thursday night (April 15), newcomer Danny Felix shared an interesting fact about her third studio album KG0516 on the red carpet.
Felix, one of Billboard’s Latin Artists to Watch in 2021, hit the carpet to talk about his first-time experience presenting at the coveted Latin AMAs. As composer and guitarist on Karol G’s “200 Copas,” he also revealed how the Colombian singer’s first-ever corrido song was born.
“Ovy on the Drums wrote to me on DM and then I jumped on the phone with Karol,” he explains, adding that he hung out with her during the star-studded Latin AMAs week. “I was with her for the last couple of days.”
In addition, Felix talked about his new single “Mariachi Tumbado,” which fuses his signature corrido sound with traditional mariachi, and his upcoming projects.
“I actually have an EP coming out and collaborations with El Bebeto, Yeison Jimenez, and Neto Bernal,” he says.
