NiziU’s “Take a picture” logs a second week at No. 1 on the latest Billboard Japan Hot 100, dated April 5 to 11.
The nine-member girl group dropped the CD on April 7, which sold 347,432 copies to lead the physical sales metric of the chart’s methodology. The track also rules look-ups, downloads, and video views, while also performing well in streaming (No. 3), Twitter mentions (No. 3) and radio airplay (No. 8).
“Take a picture” sold about 30,000 more copies than the group’s first single, “Step and a step” (318,562 copies), indicating that the girls have clearly become better known in the interim between releases. “Poppin’ Shakin’,” the song coupled in the CD single, jumps 17-7 to break into the top 10, while “Make you happy” and “Step and a step” both return to the Japan Hot 100 this week, boosted by the consecutive digital and physical releases of the group’s latest offering.
The Billboard Japan Hot 100 combines physical and digital sales, audio streams, radio airplay, Twitter mentions, YouTube and GYAO! video views, Gracenote look-ups and karaoke data.
