Evanescence has announced a free livestream show Driven to Perform that will be hosted by Alice Cooper. The show will go live on May 13th at 9pm est. In addition, a battle of the bands style competition is being held to determine the opening act. Among the three bands competing are Suspect208, who feature the sons of Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash and Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo.
In a statement, Cooper opened up about he band competition, saying, “This garage band contest and the concept of being ‘Driven to Perform’ strike a chord with me because I started out in the music business really young. I began my career the same way so many of these bands did. I was driven to someday get up on stage and perform. It is in garages across the country that so many musicians find their sound and get their start.”
In other news, Evanescence dropped a music video for “Better Without You,” which was directed Eric D. Howell.
