Crowder, aka singer-songwriter David Crowder, achieves his first No. 1 on Billboard’s airplay-, sales- and streaming-based Hot Christian Songs chart (dated April 24), as “Good God Almighty” jumps from No. 4 to No. 1.
Sparked by the song’s official video, which premiered April 9, the single surged by 20% to 1.9 million U.S. streams in the week ending April 15, according to MRC Data. The track jumps 15-8 on Christian Streaming Songs, awarding Crowder his first top 10.
The song also soared by 80% to 3,000 sold and holds at No. 2 on Christian Digital Song Sales, after debuting at No. 1 on Jan. 30, becoming Crowder’s second leader.
On Christian Airplay, the single stays at its No. 3 high, up 2% to 8.5 million audience impressions in the week ending April 18.
“I’m so happy this song is out and connecting with folks,” Crowder says. “I love how defiantly joyful it is, determining to give thanks, no matter what.”
The track, Crowder’s seventh top 10 dating to his first, “I Am” in 2013, is the first single from his album Milk and Honey, due June 11.
He wrote it with Ben Glover and Jeff Sojka. On Hot Christian Songs, it dethrones Lauren Daigle’s “You Say,” which has logged a record 125 weeks at No. 1, beginning in July 2018.
‘WAY’ TO GO Also on Hot Christian Songs, TobyMac rolls up his 24th top 10 as “Help Is on the Way,” which he co-wrote, climbs 12-10. It pushes 7-6 for a new high on Christian Airplay (6.3 million) and collected 1.1 million streams and 2,000 in sales.
TobyMac ties Jeremy Camp for the fourth-most Hot Christian Songs top 10s since the chart began in 2003. Three acts share first place, each with 28: Casting Crowns, MercyMe and Chris Tomlin.
