Could a sixth Paramore album be on the horizon? Fans certainly think so after singer Hayley Williams posted an intriguing exchange with drummer Zac Farro on Instagram on Tuesday (April 20).
The post from the 32-year-old vocalist, featuring the caption “we! are! getting oooooold!” was accompanied by a screenshot of what looks like a back-and-forth Williams and Farro had about their elder status.
“I know,” read the first text along with skull and crying emoji, followed by emoji of two older men and an old lady above “paramore 6″ followed by two strings of hahahaha’s.
On Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14), Williams said she has had her fun going solo, but might be ready to get back in the van with the band. When a fan asked her if she’d written more songs for her surprise solo release Flowers For Vases/ Descansos, which dropped on Feb. 5, Williams responded, “there are more songs, yeah…but I’m not planning on another solo album. and I’m not sure if they’d be great for Paramore. I’m ready for the next Paramore album. let’s go.”
Paramore’s fifth album, After Laughter, was released in May 2017. Williams released her solo debut, Petals for Armor, in May 2020. “Onto the next,” she also tweeted on April 16 in response to After Laughter being certified Gold by RIAA.
Meanwhile, Williams is making Earth Day emo again with a limited-edition merch collection in collaboration with social issues and awareness platform Collina Strada. Dropping Thursday (April 22) at 5:00 p.m. PT on the live stream shopping platform NTWRK, the collection includes upcycled, hand-dyed t-shirts and a rhinestone-studded water bottle.
Water bottle proceeds will go to Close the Water Gap, while t-shirt profits will go to THE OR Foundation.
