DIDDY OFFICIALLY CHANGES HIS NAME TO 'SEAN LOVE COMBS': Diddy has officially changed his name from Sean John Combs to Sean Love Combs. The music icon showed off the name change by sharing his driver's license on social media. Back in 2017, Diddy revealed that he was changing his name to Brother Love.
JAY Z REFLECTS ON 'BIG PIMPIN' LYRICS: During an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Jay Z admitted that he is not proud of his “Big Pimpin” lyrics. He said, “…I can’t believe I said that. And kept saying it? What type of animal would say this sort of thing. Reading it is really harsh.”
BIRDMAN REVEALS HOW MUCH CASH MONEY EARNS OFF IT'S ARTISTS' MASTERS: During an interview on the Where's Wallo podcast, Birdman revealed how much money he makes off of his artists' masters. He said, “We license the music, I just started letting people sample my sh*t. So yeah, it’s a gang of ways you can make money with your masters. We generate $20-30 million a year just on our masters.” The label has been criticized for not paying their artists and handling contracts properly.
JUICE WRLD AGREED TO GO TO REHAB BEFORE HIS DEATH: Max Lord, a long time collaborator of Juice WRLD has revealed there was an intervention for the rapper one week before his death and Juice agreed to attend rehab. He told GQ, “We had just broken down a lot of barriers with him. I and a couple other people had come to him in tears, like, 'We're worried about you, and we're scared we're going to lose you if you keep up these habits. And we have to do something.' And he agreed.” He continued, “And we had treatment booked for later starting on Dec. 22. That was the soonest they were available to get him in. It hurts. It really hurts.” Juice died of an accidental overdose two weeks before his admission date.
QUANDO RONDO INVOLVED IN SHOOTING: According to TMZ, rapper Quando Rondo was involved in a shooting this past weekend, which left one member of his entourage wounded. Law enforcement sources say that the shooting occurred at 3:20 am on Sunday morning (May 2nd) in Blackshear, Georgia while Quando and his crew were in a parking lot off of a highway. Quando and his crew had just left a nightclub where her performed and decided to make a stop at a convenience store. Cops believe the shooter opened fire from across the road or from the highway. Although Quando wasn't harmed, someone from his crew was shot in the hand and taken to a local hospital for treatment. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting,
RAPPER FOOGIANO SENTENCED TO GIVE YEARS IN JAIL: Rapper Foogiano has reportedly been sentenced to five years in jail for after being arrested by a U.S. Mashal's Office task force on a fugitive from justice warrant in Memphis this past March. According to The Jasmine Brand, the rapper allegedly took off his ankle monitor and disappeared for three months after being released on a $50,000 cash bond in Greene County in December 2020. That arrest stemmed from him violating his probation. The monitor was later found in Barrow County.
