Jade Thirlwall of Little Mix knows how to take (or fake) one for the team. When Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards didn’t want anyone to suspect their pregnancies, she knew just what to do.
The Brit Award-winning group took part in a half-hour Q&A session, hosted by Apple Music’s Rebecca Judd, that aired live on TikTok UK last week. Pinnock announced May 4 that she was expecting her first child with fiancé and soccer star Andre Gray, and shortly after, on May 10, Edwards revealed she was also pregnant with her first baby with her partner and professional soccer player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. But while they were filming the music video for their Saweetie-assisted “Confetti,” Edwards revealed how Thirlwall didn’t blow their cover.
“You know what cracked me up though? Being in rehearsals for ‘Confetti’ and obviously me and Leigh-Anne were pregnant at the time, and we were so out of breath like, ‘Oof.’ But we didn’t want anyone to know … so Jade was going, ‘Oof. My back.’ And she was joining in!” Edwards laughed. “Leigh-Anne was going, ‘My back hurts.’ And Jade was going, ‘My back’s gone.’”
But in terms of getting relief, the two pregnant members dished about their sweet and savory left-of-center pregnancy cravings, which have assisted with morning sickness.
Pinnock has been munching on some “really weird” snacks, including bacon-flavored crisps, prawn sandwiches and fruit-flavored sugar-coated jelly candies. “Prawn sandwiches, but the M&S kind. Frazzles, I literally ordered a box on Amazon because I was that obsessed, and Fruit Pastilles. They’re my three,” she noted.
Edwards also shared her “weird” sour candy choices but addressed that the taste helps with her morning sickness. “Mine is weird. You know what mine was? Toxic Waste. … All I wanted was just sour, sour, sour. But I loved it,” she said. “Brain Lickers, I had to get myself on Amazon and get all the classics, Juicy Drop Pops. Anything that was sour. I’m so over it, that was when I was feeling really sick, but I’m great now.”
