SHOCK G'S CAUSE OF DEATH REVEALED: The cause of death of Digital Underground's Shock G has been revealed. According to TMZ, a report from the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office says that Shock G died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, alcohol and methamphetamine.
DR. DRE IS OFFICIALLY SINGLE: Dr. Dre is officially single amid his ongoing divorce from his estranged wife Nicole Young. According to TMZ, the judge in his divorce has signed off on Dre's request to become officially divorced from Young. The two will now battle it out over the validity of their prenup, which will determine their eventually property settlement. Dre and Nicole were married for over 20 years.
QUAVO AND KENDRICK PERKINS SQUASH THEIR BEEF ON ESPN'S 'FIRST TAKE': Quavo and First Take co-host Kendrick Perkins have squashed their beef. The beef started when Quavo mentioned Kendrick in his song “F*ck 12” last year on his debut solo album Quavo Huncho. On the song, he rapped, “Every time I get the hundo, Will I’m trippin’. Every time your bi**h phone when she workin’ (brr-brr). Get no playin’ time, Kendrick Perkins.” During today's show, Quavo explained why he mentioned Kendrick in the song, saying it was simply just a bar and that he ha no issues with Kendrick, but that he meant what he said, meaning Perkins didn’t have any playing time in that particular game.
MEEK MILL AND REFORM ALLIANCE HELP PASS NEW PROBATION LAW IN VIRGINIA: Yesterday (June 10th), Meek Mill and his Reform Alliance joined Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam for the signing ceremony of HB 2038, a piece of legislation that aims to improve the state’s probation system. REFORM CEO Robert Rooks wrote on Twitter, “Big victory in Virginia today!!! Brought relief for thousands on our way to millions across the country, while creating safer communities for all! Huge shoutout to Gov. Ralph Northam, Delegate Don Scott, Meek Mill & my REFORM family.” According to Virginia’s legislative website, the new bill introduces significant probation reform, including limiting “the amount of active incarceration a court can impose as a result of a revocation hearing for a probation violation.” The rapper said in a statement, “I’m in position to do better and I know people that are in 100 times worse situations than me that I had no connection to and met in prison along the way. With y’all support, I’ll continue to do better than I started. I got my deal in 2012 and I was able to feed my family and provide jobs.” He added, “I’ll make sure I’ll be able to deliver and close every bridge I can to help fix the system because I was affected by that. Ain’t nothing but a lil bit of straighten. Thank you governor for signing this bill it will help many lives!”
