Iggy Azalea takes the show on the road in the high-rollin’ video for her new single, “I Am the Strip Club.” The title isn’t just a clever turn of phrase, either, as the rapper literally hits the highway in a mobile gentleman’s establishment set up in a flashing 18-wheeler, striking glamorous poses while rocking a striped bodysuit and black leather corset.
She’s got plenty of company on her freeway free-for-all, as dancers from the Legendary ballroom crew House of Balmain strike elegant poses all around her while rocking flesh-baring black lingerie.
“Hit it one time, two times? Too live/ Laying poolside and that make me woosah/ Too fine, do your own thing, ima do mine/ I’m on cloud nine cuz the vibe too high,” she raps over the spare, bouncing EDM-style beat. “Fat a–, lap dance, pop it on a handstand/ Big bags, big cash hit a 100 — car fast — don’t crash/ If you ain’t ready don’t ask talk a big game, but I know you won’t last/ Keep the dollars on me keep designer on me.”
The action just gets hotter from there when Azalea — rocking canary yellow hair and a matching yellow and black bikini and leather pants, drops verses from the back of a four-wheeler speeding down a desert highway at night, surrounded by motorcyclists standing up on their seats while popping wheelies and throwing sparks.
“Don’t need dark rooms (I am the strip club)/ Don’t need red lights (I am the strip club)/ I do the lap dance, I ride the pole up/ I am the, the strip club,” she raps on the hook to the J. White Did It-produced the song about what goes on in the dark. The song follows on the heels of a similarly electronic-sounding promo track “Brazil,” the B-side to the rapper’s “Sip It” single from April. According to a release, both “Brazil” and “Strip Club” showcase and tease the electronic influence that pervades the MC’s upcoming third studio album, End of an Era.
Azalaea, who wrote the treatment for the visual she co-directed with Thom Kerr, pulls off yet another surprising moving violation near the end of the clip when she luxuriates in a bubble bath set up inside the trunk of a classic car as it throws off a flood of foam onto the blacktop. Azalea is slated to hit the road this summer with Pitbull on his 32-city I Feel Good Tour.
