Wiz Khalifa revealed on Wednesday (July 14) that he has COVID-19, but that so far, he doesn’t have any symptoms. And while it’s unclear how he’s feeling, the “Young, Wild & Free” rapper urged everyone to just keep their distance for a little while.
“Okay loved ones….sooo…..Ya boy got covid. No symptoms. Just stay away from me for a lil while,” he tweeted. At press time it was unknown if the rapper has been vaccinated against the highly contagious virus that has killed more than 608,000 Americans and sickened over 34 million, but the weed-loving MC promised that he would spend his time in lockdown productively.
“While im in the house I’ll be givin y’all new content, planning raves, and readying this new project,” he wrote. Khalifa joins the growing list of artists who’ve spoken out about contracting the coronavirus, which has also infected Luke Bryan, Jessica Simpson, Trisha Yearwood, Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan, Ashanti, Gloria Estefan, Doja Cat, J Balvin, Kanye West, Madonna, Sturgill Simpson, corona denier Ted Nugent, and many more.
The 33-year-old rapper, who appeared on season five of The Masked Singer in 2020 and finished in third place, has not released a full-length album since 2018’s Rolling Papers 2.
