Carrie Underwood will return to NBC and Sunday Night Football for the ninth consecutive season beginning on Sunday, September 12th with a whole new intro. For the first time, the 2021 Sunday Night Football show open will feature a virtual football tailgate as a backdrop for Carrie’s performance of “Waiting All Day For Sunday Night.” She said, “Shooting the new show open for Sunday Night Football is one of the highlights of my year. I just love the fact that we get to reinvent it every year. The team behind these shoots is incredible and it’s always a really fun day, especially this year getting to work with such amazing state-of-the-art technology.” In addition, the show open will highlight user-generated cameos from some of the NFL’s biggest stars, as well as fans’ self-recorded video from NFL tailgates. Carrie tells us that getting to be involved with SNF is a dream come true as a lifelong football fan. “I love being the voice of Sunday Night Football because I grew up watching football…from birth. I’m from Oklahoma – we’re a football state. There’s just something about being at a live sporting event or watching it on TV. You have your favorites. They have their rivals. There’s an excitement to it that really, it’s unlike anything else, so being a small part of that is absolutely amazing.” on CD/digital on September 24th and on vinyl on November 5th. Each will feature three additional tracks along with the original 11 from her 2020 My Gift album.
