Midland’s Songs Can Be Emotional Even For Them

Not every song that Midland records has a deep, emotional meaning behind it, but when they do, lead singer Mark Wystrach says it definitely affects him, especially when performing live. Mark tells us more: “You always need to go into that place. You need to populate that story, and it is recalling – maybe not consciously, sometimes it is subconscious. I feel like if the song is written well enough, the music will literally kind of move you into that space. For me, particularly in the live shows, I definitely am in a different mindset. And that is the interesting thing about music.
