The family affair teaming Carlos and Lucy Vives alongside Mau y Ricky pays off as together they score a top 10 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Airplay chart (dated Nov. 13) with “Besos En Cualquier Horario.” (Lucy is the daughter of Carlos, while Mau y Ricky are brothers, unrelated to the Vives.)
The Latin pop bouncy tune, with Vives’ habitual vallenato nuances, ascends 11-10 assisted by a 13% boost in audience impressions, to 3 million, earned in the U.S. in the week ending Nov. 7, according to MRC Data.
The song marks Lucy Vives’ first Latin Pop Airplay top 10 and her first visit to any Billboard chart. The track debuted at No. 25 on the Sept. 4-dated tally, preceding the song’s exclusive acoustic performance on Facebook.
For Carlos Vives, “Besos” grants him his 23rd top 10, four of which have hit No. 1, dating back to his first: the two-week champ “La Tierra del Olvido” in 1995, his second chart hit. “Besos” arrives six months after “Canción Bonita,” his first collaboration with Ricky Martin, which was released earlier this year on April 13 (No. 5 high, May 22-dated survey).
Meanwhile, Mau y Ricky notch their fourth top 10, dating back to their first and only No. 1 hit, “Ya No Tiene Novio” with Sebastián Yatra (December 2018). The tune also registers a new chart high for the duo on the overall Latin Airplay chart since 2018, as “Besos“ climbs 42-34 in its second week.
