Tracy Chan was hired at SoundCloud as the svp of Creator. After departing his role as head of music at Twitch, he will oversee the SoundCloud Creator ecosystem globally, including tools, services, products and offerings. Reporting to SoundCloud president, Eliah Seton, Chan will be responsible for evolving a feature-rich Creator product for independent artists.
Larry Gaaga was appointed vp of A&R at Def Jam Africa, a division of Universal Music Group. Reporting to Sipho Dlamini (CEO of Universal Music South Africa & Sub-Saharan Africa), Gaaga will lead the A&R division of music and culture tastemakers across English speaking markets. Krystal Miles was hired as gm of Anderson .Paak’s newly founded label APESHIT. Miles will oversee business development for the label and operations of both music and management initiatives. APESHIT signed a deal with Universal Music Group in November.
Dylan Brewer was promoted to vp of marketing & experiential at Epic Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. Based out of Los Angeles, Brewer previously spearheaded Epic’s marketing strategy for a diverse roster, including Ozzy Osbourne, Madison Beer, Bakar, BEAM, AG Club, Headie One, J Hus and more artists.
Enrique Pérez was hired as head of partnerships and client solutions for the Latin Recording Academy‘s new team. As part of an ongoing series of structural changes, Pérez will head all partnerships with corporate clients and brands while overseeing the creation and execution of all marketing campaigns. Pérez will report to Academy CEO Manuel Abud.
Julia Betley was hired as svp of ceative sync licensing at Warner Records. Based out of Los Angeles, Betley will report to Claudia Butzky, Warner Records evp of band partnerships & sync. Betley will work closely with Butzky to develop strategy for creative music placement and campaigns across film, TV, gaming, sports and related platforms.
Mia McNeal was hired as senior director of industry relations & inclusion at the Country Music Association (CMA). Mark Girton was named vp of special events at Empire Polo Club, home to the Coachella Valley Arts & Music Festival and Stagecoach. Girton’s appointment comes after a long-term agreement with the Empire Polo Club gave Goldenvoice year-round operational control of both the Empire Polo Club and special-events property the Grand Oasis.
