Luis Bonilla will be promoted to chief technology officer at SoundExchange on Aug. 1. Based out of Washington, D.C., Bonilla will be responsible for SoundExchange’s technology systems and infrastructure. He will also oversee the scaling of next-generation tools to better enable the business of music. He will report to SoundExchange president and CEO, Michael Huppe. Previously, Bonilla served as senior vp of operations at SoundExchange since 2020 after joining the music technology organization as senior director of distribution services in 2011.
Miles Gersh was promoted to vp of A&R at Warner Records. Based out of Warner’s Los Angeles headquarters, Gersh reports to co-chairman and CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck. The new promotion comes after Gersh’s previous role as director of A&R for Warner Records when he joined the company in 2019. He discovered and developed emerging artists including Zach Bryan and CJ.
Michael Frick, was hired as vp of creative services for the music department at MNRK. Based out of Los Angeles and reporting to MNRK’s music department senior vp Maria Alonte, Frick will be the Music Creative in brand partnerships and synch in his newly created role. He will handle day-to-day synch activity for artists and writers in MNRK’s global group in the advertising/brand marketing space. In addition, he will be working alongside the Music Supervision team, providing creative services to brands as a music strategist/ consultant.
Pat Mitchell Worley will be named president and CEO of The Soulsville Foundation beginning Aug. 1, following the departure of Richard Greenwald. Based out of Memphis, Mitchell Worley has been the co-host of internationally syndicated radio show Beale Street Caravan for almost 20 years and will bring her decades of experience to her new role. Additionally, Isaac Daniel was promoted to Stax Music Academy executive director. Former president and CEO Greenwald, who made a five-year commitment to lead the organization when he was hired in 2017, will be a member of the Soulsville Foundation board of directors. The Soulsville Foundation is a nonprofit organization that oversees and fundraises for the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, Stax Music Academy and The Soulsville Charter School in Memphis.
