Steve Lacy’s “Bad Habit” ascends to No. 1 on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart dated Aug. 13.
In the July 29-Aug. 4 tracking week, “Habit” earned 20 million official U.S. streams, according to Luminate.
“Habit” ascends to No. 1 in its fourth week on the ranking. It debuted at No. 24 on the July 23 survey (9.7 million streams), followed by rises to No. 4 on July 30 (17.3 million) and No. 2 on Aug. 6 (18.5 million).
“Habit” gives Lacy his first Streaming Songs No. 1, coming in his first appearance on the ranking.
Concurrently, “Habit” spends its third week at No. 1 on R&B Streaming Songs and rules R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs, Rock Streaming Songs and Alternative Streaming Songs for a second week. It’s the first song to have led all of those rankings simultaneously.
On the multi-metric Billboard Hot 100, “Habit” breaks into the top 10, shooting 11-7. It’s Lacy’s first top 10, and comes as the song concurrently ranks at No. 2 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, Hot Rock Songs and Hot Alternative Songs, No. 3 on Hot R&B Songs and No. 5 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
“Habit” also continues to rise at radio. It zooms 32-22 on Pop Airplay and debuts at No. 37 on Rhythmic Airplay.
“Habit” is the lead single from Gemini Rights, Lacy’s second studio album. In its third week on the Billboard 200, it drops 13-16 with 24,000 equivalent album units earned.
