JAY-Z TELLS HOW HE CAME UP WITH IRV GOTTI'S NAME: During an appearance on the Murder Inc. docu-series, Jay-Z explained how he came up with Irv Gotti's name. Hov said, “I remember be snappin' on Irv, like, 'Your name is 'Irving.' 'Man, get outta here. Irving?' And everybody laughing, ha ha ha.” Hov then suggested Irv “toughen” up his name and suggested “Irv Gotti.”
A$AP ROCKY CHARGED WITH ASSAULT: According to TMZ, A$AP Rocky is facing charges in connection to the November of 2021 shooting where he's accused of firing shots at his former friend and former A$AP Mob member, A$AP Relli. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced on Monday (August 15th) that the rapper was hit with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. Prosecutors say Rocky fired shots at the man last year following an argument in Hollywood. Rocky is also being sued by Relli for assault and battery.
MEGAN THEE STALLION SPEAKS ON 'TRAUMAZINE' ALBUM: Megan Thee Stallion has opened up about her latest album Traumazine, saying that the project was a way for her to express her vulnerability. She told Apple Music Radio hosts Ebro Darden and Nadeska, “I don’t write songs about how I feel, I write songs about how I want to feel. So I feel like on this album, it’s probably the first time I figured out how to talk about what I want to say… express myself a little bit more. So that’s just how I’ve been living life. And I feel like it’s been so easy for people to tell my story for me, speak on my behalf because I’m a nonchalant person, I feel like. And people be talking about me and I be like, okay. But like I see now that it can get out of control so I feel like I wanted to just take control of my narrative, take control of my own story. Tell it my way, tell it from me.”
