Sony Music Publishing opened a new office in Lagos, Nigeria and hired Godwin Tom as managing director of the company’s Nigeria division. In the role, Tom will support SMP’s growing roster of songwriters and composers across the region.
Big Machine Label Group hired Megan Joyce as senior vp of business and legal affairs. In the position, Joyce will oversee corporate business endeavors and provide legal counsel across the label group. She takes on the responsibilities of BMLG’s outgoing executive vp and general counsel Malcolm Mimms, who will transition into a consulting role after more than a decade of leadership at the company.
Allison Hamamura was hired at ONErpm as general manager/Los Angeles and vp of A&R. She will oversee the company’s L.A. office and the acquisition of new business while supporting the growth of its artist services and development. Additionally, ONErpm promoted Joseph Aldulaimi, whose recent signings include Chri$tian Gate$, Elohim, Johan Lenox, Lion Babe, PLVTINUM and Smallpools, to vp of A&R. Also at ONErpm, Shelby Kennedy was named director of A&R. Kennedy, a songwriter and background singer with a 35-year history in Nashville, will oversee all aspects of client interaction, from sourcing and closing new clients to onboarding and relationship management. He will also be tasked with developing and executing strategic business partnerships.
The Recording Academy’s charitable foundation MusiCares hired Theresa Wolters as vp of health & human services. In the role, Wolters will be in charge of developing, executing and overseeing MusiCares’ programs and services nationally, including emergency financial assistance, mental health and addiction recovery programs, social and preventive health care services and disaster relief efforts.
