Dave Matthews ties for the most top 10s in the history of Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart, as Dave Matthews Band’s “Monsters” rises from No. 11 to No. 9 on the June 10-dated survey.
“Monsters” is Matthews’ 26th top 10 solo or with his eponymous band, and second in a row, following the No. 4 peak of “Madman’s Eyes” in March.
With 26 top 10s, Matthews ties U2 for the most top 10s in Adult Alternative Airplay’s 27-year history.

Of those 26 top 10s, 23 are credited to Dave Matthews Band, beginning with the No. 7-peaking “Satellite” in January 1996 (the month the chart began). The three credited just to Matthews are via his 2003 solo album, Some Devil, including a pair of No. 1s in “Save Me” and “On.”
Matthews boasts 11 No. 1s in all (nine with his band); Coldplay and U2 lead all acts with 13 apiece. Dave Matthews Band’s most recent ruler was “Mercy,” for two weeks in August 2012.
Concurrently, “Monsters” ranks at No. 50 on the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart with 581,000 audience impressions May 26-June 1, according to Luminate.
The song is the second single from Walk Around the Moon, Dave Matthews Band’s 10th studio album and first since 2018’s Come Tomorrow. It debuted at No. 1 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums tally dated June 3 with 44,000 equivalent album units earned.
