BOOSIE BADAZZ ARRESTED BY FEDS AFTER THEY WATCHED HIS INSTAGRAM LIVESTREAM SHOWING GUN: According to TMZ, Boosie was arrested outside of a courthouse in San Diego last week on possession of a weapon by a felon charge. Authorities arrested the rapper after Boosie made a recent appearance on an Instagram Live stream with a firearm tucked into his waistband. In the stream, which was broadcast on May 6th, Boosie was seen with the weapon. According to federal documents, federal agents saw Boosie with the firearm and the San Diego police department later pulled over a vehicle he was riding in. During the search a loaded gun was discovered in his security guard’s bag, and a loaded Glock 9mm was located in one of the passenger seats. Following his arrest, Boosie tweeted, “I wanna take this time to apologize to my kids, I’m sorry and I love y’all forever.”

YNW MELLY'S LEAD ATTORNEY MOTIONS FOR MISTRIAL: According to Hot New Hip Hop, on the fourth day of YNW Melly's double murder trial last week, his lead attorney David A. Howard, requested a mistrial in the case. Judge Murphy III took the motion for a mistrial under advisement. The court will discuss on Tuesday (June 20th) once trial resumes. YNW Melly is on trial for allegedly shooting and killing two of his friends in October 2018.
HOUSTON RAPPER BIG POKEY DEAD AT 45: Houston rap legend Big Pokey, born Milton Powell, has died. He was 45. His passing was unexpected as it occurred after he collapsed while performing on stage in Beaumont, TX on Saturday (June 17th). During the performance, Pokey started gasping for air and then fell on his back. A nurse who was in the crowd administered CPR before he was taken to a local hospital. Bun B spoke on Pokey's death, saying, “I wasn’t ready for this. One of the most naturally talented artists in the city. Low key, humble mountain of a man who moved with honor and respect. He was easy to love and hard to hate. He’d pull up, do what he had to do and head home. One of the pillars of our city. If heart of gold was a person. Iconic member of the SUC.
