BRETT ELDRIGE WRITING NEW MUSIC: Brett Eldrige may have taken a break from touring in 2023, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t busy. The singer recently told The Boot that he’s been working on new music. He told the outlet, “Through the time off, I've been writing a lot of music for fun. It's obviously going to be for a project, but I've learned that instead of trying to write something that has to fit into a box or whatever, I'm just having fun writing. And it's allowed me to go to some deeper places that I'm not sure I would have been able to if I had not taken this time. Some different sounds that people haven't fully heard from me yet, and I'm ready to expand with all this music and it's really coming together.”
OLIVER ANTHONY SETS 'BILLBOARD' RECORD: Oliver Anthony has made history by taking the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 after having not appeared on the chart ever before. “Rich Men North of Richmond” tops the chart only two weeks after being released. The track was released on YouTube on Aug. 8th and, according to Billboard, tallied 17.5 million streams across all digital service providers.
BROTHERS OSBORNE TO RECIEVE THE ANGELS AMONG US AWARD: Brothers Osborne are the 2023 recipients of the Angels Among Us Award, an honor presented annually to a country act for outstanding support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The Boot reports that the band will pick up their trophy as part as the 2023 Country Cares for St. Jude Kids weekend this October. The duo has supported the hospital's lifesaving mission since 2014, when they first toured the Memphis facility.
