O.G. Cady Heron Lindsay Lohan, 37, made a surprise appearance on the red carpet at Monday night’s (Jan. 8) New York premiere of the new Mean Girls movie musical, where she posed for pics with writer-producer-star Tina Fey.
The debut of the adaptation of the Broadway musical based on the original 2004 Mean Girls movie — which was itself adapted from author Rosalind Wiseman’s 2002 book Queen Bees and Wannabes — also drew out Lohan’s fellow original cast members Daniel Franzese (Damian Hubbard) and Rajiv Surrendra (Kevin Gnapoor),” according to Variety magazine. Fey reprises her role as Ms. Norbury in the the new film, which stars Angourie Rice as the 2024 Heron.
According to People, Lohan, new mom to seven-month-old son Luai, dressed to impress in a long-sleeved black dress by Alexandre Vauthier with bejeweled cutouts lined with silver crystals. Lohan has been all in on the reboot, reuniting with her original castmates in November for a Black Friday Walmart commercial in which the North Shore High School kids — including Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert — came together for an ad that starred Missy Elliott as Coach Carr.
Fey and Rice’s Mean Girls co-stars, were, of course, also on hand, including Reneé Rapp (who stars as ultimate mean girl Regina George), as well as Auli’i Cravalho (Janis ‘Imi’ike), Jaquel Spivey (Damian Hubbard), Tim Meadows (Principal Duvall), Christopher Briney (Aaron Samuels), Avantika (Karen Shetty), Bebe Wood (Gretchen Wieners), Busy Philipps (Mrs. George), Jon Hamm (Coach Carr) and Megan Thee Stallion, who recently released the soundtrack banger “Not My Fault,” featuring Rapp.
Mean Girls will open in theaters on Friday (Jan. 12).
