After their surprise reunion at a benefit concert in December, Alabama Shakes have announced their first tour together in eight years. The band – consisting of singer/guitarist Brittany Howard, bassist Zac Cockrell, and drummer Heath Fogg – will kick off their 2025 tour on July 16 in Chicago and conclude on September 27 in Irving, Texas. “This band and these songs have been such a source of joy for all of us,” Howard said in a statement. “We didn’t want this to entirely be a look back. We wanted it to be as much about the future as the past.” The tour will feature new music alongside classic hits, with the group currently working on new material with producer Shawn Everett. Opening acts on the tour include Shannon and the Clams, the Budos Band, Lee Fields, and Bahamas, with tour dates spanning throughout the United States, from Nashville to Seattle and New Orleans to Austin.
