Although it was released in 2022, the series The Dropout is having a bit of a pop culture moment in 2026, thanks to the new Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim documentary You Can See Everything. The documentary follows one month before Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes is sent to federal prison for wire fraud, as the directors have unlimited access to her and her family.
The Dropout serves as a companion piece to You Can See Everything because the series is referenced multiple times throughout the film, while it’s also intertwined with Holmes’ story in the lead up to her life behind bars. Starring Amanda Seyfried, The Dropout is available to stream with Hulu on Disney+.

Created by Elizabeth Meriwether and based on the ABC News podcast of the same name, The Dropout follows the story of Elizabeth Holmes (Amanda Seyfried), a Stanford student who went from dropout to the toast of Silicon Valley as the CEO of the healthcare company Theranos and the revelation of its dubious blood-testing device.
It also stars Naveen Andrews, Elizabeth Marvel, Michel Gill, William H. Macy, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Bill Irwin, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Laurie Metcalf, Stephen Fry and others. Anne Nikitin composed the music score to the Hulu series.
