50 Cent’s beef with Rick Ross knows no bounds. After an arrest was made for an assault against Rick Ross’ son, a petty 50 posted on Instagram on Tuesday (Oct. 20) that he’s having his powerhouse lawyer, Drew Findling, look into bailing out the 20-year-old suspect.
The G-Unit mogul posted Don Roberts’ arrest file, who isn’t related to Rozay’s son, William Roberts III. He was hit with a pair of charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, for his role in the altercation earlier in October.
“I got him he will be out tomorrow I’m sending @drewfindling . This is a big misunderstanding that can easily be resolved,” 50 quipped before throwing in a mention of his new Street Fighter movie. “This was a street fight, I mean STREET FIGHTER is in theaters! LOL.”
Billboard has reached out to 50 Cent and Ross’ reps for comment.
According to local NBC News affiliate NBC 6, Rick Ross’ son was near the Bethune-Cookman University campus — where he’s enrolled and plays football — in Daytona Beach, Fla., talking with a woman when Roberts hopped out of a car and approached him on Oct. 11, angry because he appeared to have been romantically involved with her in the past.
“I don’t care who your daddy is, I’ll kill you right here,” Roberts allegedly told the rapper’s son, according to NBC 6, citing the police report. The 20-year-old allegedly proceeded to pistol-whip Roberts III, who fled home after being struck. Police arrested Don Roberts on Oct. 16, after he was identified in a lineup by Roberts III.
Volusia County jail records show Roberts has yet to be released from custody. Per Complex, he pleaded not guilty to the pair of felony charges and is due back in court for a hearing on Wednesday (Oct. 21).
50 and Rozay’s feud stretches back to 2008 and is still burning nearly two decades later. The Queens rapper recently trolled the MMG boss following Ross’ Oct. 1 arrest on domestic battery charges and a judge not knowing who Ross is when his attorney sought special treatment and an expedited release in the courtroom. “The judge don’t know that fool LOL BOOK HIS STUPID A–,” 50 wrote of his longtime rival.
Ross’ attorneys denied the charges against the Florida rapper, saying he’s been “wrongly accused” by an ex. “Mr. Roberts is innocent and has pled not guilty to the charges,” Ross’ attorneys said in part in a statement shared with Billboard at the time. “He respectfully requests that his friends, fans and the general public not prejudge the situation and allow the judicial process to run its course.”
