The Vive Latino festival will celebrate its 27th edition with the highly anticipated return of Mexican rock band Zurdok and the participation of international acts such as Mötley Crüe, Turnstile, Residente, Milo J, Placebo, Latin Mafia and Los Auténticos Decadentes. These artists will take the stage at the rock celebration on March 13 and 14 at the Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, promoter Ocesa announced on Friday (Nov. 6).
The eclectic lineup includes more than 50 Spanish- and English-speaking groups and solo artists, such as Los Tres, Paloma Murphy, La Santa Cecilia, Carla Morrison, Ed Maverick, Kasabian, Bacilos, Attaque 77, Mi Banda El Mexicano, Polymarchs, Andrés Cepeda, Amandititita and veteran Argentine rocker Laureano Brizuela. Also on the list are Adanowsky, Ozomatli, Ximena Sariñana, Skatalites, Cuca, Cultura Profética, Inspector and La Gusana Ciega.
Thanks to a partnership with Amazon Music, for the fourth consecutive year, performances from Mexico’s longest running music festival will be streamed on the digital platform in uninterrupted broadcasts.
Since its inception in 1998, the Ibero-American Festival of Musical Culture, better known as Vive Latino, has maintained its reputation as an event that challenges expectations. It was the first to include pop, reggaeton, cumbia and Mexican regional music artists in its lineup; it has hosted a four-day edition; incorporated English-language bands to the biggest rock en español celebration; and became the first Latin American festival to have its own edition in Spain.
Affectionately called El Vive by its fans, the festival debuted on Nov. 28-29, 1998, at the Foro Sol (now Estadio GNP Seguros) in Mexico City. Since then, it has taken place every year except in 1999, 2002 and 2021, the latter due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
