Sony’s Marvel Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5 console is still available — and we did some digging to find the best deals.
You can save up to $110 off the limited-edition console at Amazon, which is the best deal that we’ve seen online. Sony released the limited-edition Spider-Man PS5 console bundle last fall and its currently 20% off at Amazon.
The PS5 Slim, a smaller version of Sony’s bestselling gaming console, was released last November ahead of the PlayStation Portal.
Regular $599.99, the PS5 Slim Spider-Man 2 bundle is available at Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy, but it’s sold out at Target. The bundle is $110 off at Amazon and $60 off at Walmart ($449.99), and includes Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PS5, a digital voucher and a slimmer PS5 console with 1TB of storage.
Announced last October, the Spider-Man console comes in black (instead of the standard white colorway) and features symbiote tentacles inching closer to the Spider-Man icon.
“The design was inspired by the in-game symbiote that’s taking over the console and controller, but you can still see some of the underlying red under the tendrils. This represents the various ways players will experience the symbiote takeover in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” Jacinda Chew, senior art director at Insomniac Games, said in a statement on the Sony blog. “It’s a constant push and pull for dominance, whether it’s internal or external and the outcome is not certain.”
The Spider-Man logo is also featured on the back of the console and on the controller. Sony’s PS5 Slim bundle is white like the regular PS5. The black console is no longer in stock, but used consoles are available at Amazon and on resale sites such as StockX.
Upon launching the new console, Sony also released a Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition Console Covers ($64.99) and Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition DualSense Wireless Controller ($79.99) for gamers that want to channel the same look as the limited console and controller.
Sony debuts its PS5 console during the pandemic in 2020. The company has sold over 40 million consoles since then. According to PlayStation fans, some of the top games include Astro’s Playroom, Bugsnax, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Cult of the Lamb and Deep Space.
Rumor has it that Sony could be dropping a new console, the PS5 Pro, later this year.
