This year’s Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 11) boasted a huge lineup of star-studded commercials, with clever brand partnerships featuring everyone from Beyoncé to Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, Ice Spice and more.
And though the competition was fierce, the “Break My Soul” superstar’s cinematic ad with Verizon may have made the biggest splash — if only because she used it as an opportunity to also announce her new album, Act II. Bey had hinted in the commercial that she was going to “drop the new music,” and shortly after it aired, she really did release two new singles, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.”
That’s not to say that the many other celebrity-packed commercials didn’t go equally hard, though. Lopez appeared alongside her famous husband, Ben Affleck, along with his best friend and fellow A-list actor, Matt Damon, for a hilarious skit promoting Dunkin’ that also starred Jack Harlow and Tom Brady. Plus, Cardi B helmed a NYX ad that was forcibly shortened — presumably due to its slightly X-rated material — Ice Spice cut off her ex for Starry and Usher, the night’s Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner, appeared in not one, but two commercials.
Every year, the big game is one of the hugest nights in advertising, hence all the celebrity cameos. In 2024, the big-budget commercials aired as the Kansas City Chiefs played the San Francisco 49ers at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, with the former team eventually winning 25-22 after going into overtime.
